Who is Smoka?

Smoka lives and works in Nantes. He discovered graffiti in the 90s. In parallel with his artistic studies, he decided to tackle the higher format by drawing directly on the walls. A perfectionist by nature, he explores different styles with demanding techniques.

From fine 3D to imposing blocks, he remains in perpetual quest for new lettering and multiplies renderings. Today his work mixes portraits, typography, patterns and materials, with the aim of making his compositions dynamic. Patterns and colors become preponderant elements of his practice, punctuating his works between abstraction and figuration. They question our beliefs, confront our human certainties with the reality of Nature. He has been part of the 100 Pressure Collective in Nantes since 2006.
